History
IJN Haruna was the third Kongo-class battlecruiser, built at Kawasaki Dockyard in Kobe. She participated in numerous operations throughout the war. On July 28, 1945, she was sunk at her moorings off Koyō, Etajima, across the bay from Kure, during massive Allied air raids that destroyed most of the remaining Japanese fleet.
