History
IJN Hyuga was the second Ise-class battleship, built at Mitsubishi Nagasaki Shipyard. Like her sister, she was converted to an aviation battleship in 1943. Moored off Nasakejima near Kure as a floating battery, she was crippled on July 24, 1945 — four days before Ise was sunk — in the first of the Allied carrier raids on the port, and settled on the bottom over the following days.
